Kia orāna!
Once more, we’re celebrating New Zealand’s Pacific influences – this time with Cook Islands Language Week! (Sunday 29 July to Saturday 4 August.)
Join us in learning some new words! We’ve made a free, easy-to-use interactive resource that’s ready to go for your classroom. Students of all ages will learn to count in Māori Kūki ‘Āirani, Cook Islands Māori.
Check out Count with Me: Ka Tārē Kapipiti Tāua.
Special thanks to Tuaine Robati and his grandson Te Tupu o Rongo Kafatolu for their participation, and for their awesome knowledge too!
Love this resource? You can learn to count in lea fakatonga (Tongan) and gagana Samoa (Samoan), too. Check out Lau Mata‘ifika (Count With Me) and Faitau Fa’atasi Ma A’u (Count With Me).
