Tālofa lava!
We love celebrating New Zealand’s Pasifika influences, so we’re pretty excited about Samoan Language Week (Sunday 27 May to Saturday 2 June).
Want to join us in learning some new words?
We’ve made a free, easy-to-use interactive resource that’s ready to go for your classroom. Students of all ages will learn to count in gagana Sāmoa, the Samoan language.
Check out Faitau fa‘atasi ma a‘u (Count with me).
Special thanks to Semurana and Bessie Fepulea’i for their participation, and for their awesome knowledge too!
Love this resource? You can learn to count in lea fakatonga (Tongan), too. Check out Lau Mata‘ifika (Count With Me), developed for Tongan Language Week last year.
